SIR 2020 Virtual SA-CME: Cutting-Edge Immuno-Oncology Concepts Applied to Interventional Radiology Practice

Sun, 6/14: 2:00 PM  - 3:30 PM
SA-CME session
Webinar
Room: Webinar
CME Credits: 1.5
The overall goal of the session is to introduce the most up-to-date concepts of immuno-oncology in a practical context to health care providers in interventional radiology. The speakers are all heavily involved in the most cutting-edge research on their respective topics and the session is built in a logical flow. The session will start with an oncologist discussing opportunities for IR in immuno-oncology. Subsequently, practical considerations on the optimal technique for image-guided intratumoral delivery of immune agents will be discussed. Third speaker will explore the concept of abscopal effect after interventions, discussing the most recent discoveries and controversies. The session will subsequently focus on the recent discoveries in the biology of local tumor and circulating immune biomarkers and their role in determining timing and efficacy of interventional therapies.

Objective

1. Attendees will learn the most current concepts in the rapidly growing field of immuno-oncology and the most promising aspects of combination therapies with interventional radiology.
2. The optimal technique for image-guided intratumoral delivery of immune agents to produce maximum effect will be explained and supported by recent research developments.
3. Attendees will be familiarized with recent circulating and local tumor biomarkers for immuno-oncology patients and their role during locoregional therapy.
