Timothy P. Murphy, MD, FSIR
Timothy P. Murphy, MD, FSIR, obtained his medical degree at Boston University in 1987. After completing his residency in diagnostic radiology at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital, he completed a one-year fellowship in interventional radiology. He has published 235 articles and given 188 invited lectures.
Dr. Murphy is currently the medical director of the Vascular Disease Research Center and interventional radiologist at Rhode Island Hospital, and a professor in the department of diagnostic imaging at Brown Medical School.
A past-president of SIR, Dr. Murphy served on the Executive Council for nine years and has collaborated with SIR leadership to run the IR Venture Forum at the annual meeting. Along with his membership on the JVIR editorial board, he has served on the steering and operations committees for three key IR clinical trials.
