SIR 2020 Cancellation FAQs for Exhibitors

 

Are you refunding my SIR registration fee?

Yes. We will automatically refund 100% of your SIR registration. We are currently working through this process and appreciate your patience during this time.  We anticipate you will see a full refund on your credit card within 30 days.  If you paid by means other than credit card, we will be reaching out to you. You will receive a cancellation confirmation once your record has been canceled. As we learn more about the timing, we will provide you with additional updates.

 

Are you refunding my SIR exhibitor fees?

 

Exhibit space rental

Registered exhibitors will be refunded for the full amount of their exhibit space rental, upon written request. Alternatively, exhibitors may request that their SIR 2020 Seattle exhibit booth fee by applied to SIR 2021 Nashville. 

Payments made by credit card will be refunded and appear on your credit card statement within 60 days of the meeting cancellation. Refunds for payments made by check or wire transfer will be issued within 60 days of the meeting cancellation.

Important Note: Refund and credit request forms must be submitted prior to April 20, 2020.

Advertising opportunity fees

If you are a corporate partner who purchased an advertising opportunity via the SIR 2020 Advertising Marketplace, there may be opportunities to reallocate your investment, in part or in full, to the anticipated SIR 2020 virtual experience. Such opportunities will be made available over the coming week(s).

Alternatively, refunds will be granted upon request. We kindly ask, however, that you first consider newly available opportunities. All credit card refunds will appear on your credit card statement within 90 days of the meeting cancellation. Check refunds will be issued within 90 days of the meeting cancellation. How can I cancel my hotel room reservation?

If you booked within the official SIR hotel block, we will be canceling your reservation with the hotel. If you wish to keep your reservation, please reach out to the hotel directly to rebook your reservation. 

If you did not book within the official SIR hotel block, you will need to cancel directly with the hotel.

Are you refunding flight or other travel costs?

No. We will not refund individual travel costs. If you purchased travel insurance, please contact your provider for information and next steps. Many airlines are either waiving cancellation fees or considering the action that precipitated your cancellation. Please contact your airline to see if your ticket qualifies. We apologize for any inconvenience and challenges this may cause you.

 

What if I require documentation that SIR 2020 was cancelled?

Upon request, SIR would be glad to provide you with official documenation of the SIR 2020 cancellation. Requests may be submitted to Susie Evenden at sevenden@sirweb.org

 

What about SIR 2021 booth selection?

SIR 2021 advance booth selection will take place March-April 2020. Susie Evenden, sevenden@sirweb.org, will be contacting companies directly with additional information. 

 

I do not agree with the decision to cancel the SIR 2020 meeting. Who can I talk to about this?
