Driven by advances in techniques and technologies, evolving evidence and patient preference, the management of peripheral arterial disease has shifted toward an "endovascular first" approach. These interventional procedures are less invasive and associated with faster recovery compared to open surgical procedures, but are not without potential adverse consequences.
Learning Objectives:
Recognition of potential complications of endovascular procedures (dissection, rupture, distal embolization) and strategies for management.
Proper device selection and development of other tactics to minimize risk and prevent complications.
Strategies for development of a robust program for the clinical management of the patient with peripheral arterial disease.
