This session brings together experienced interventional radiologists and gynecologists from diverse practice settings and regions to review the current evidence, identify gaps in knowledge, and discuss where our specialties align — and where we still diverge.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss key areas of controversy in women's health where IR and GYN approaches diverge, including treatment of fibroids, adenomyosis, pelvic venous disorders, and postpartum hemorrhage.
  • Evaluate current clinical evidence for IR therapies in women's health and identify barriers to utilization, including data gaps, referral biases, and systemic limitations in interdisciplinary access.
  • Propose collaborative care models between IRs and gynecologists to improve patient outcomes, optimize referral patterns, and align clinical decision-making across specialties.
