Knee osteoarthritis remains a leading cause of chronic pain and disability, often resistant to conservative measures. This session will explore targeted, durable, image-guided therapies including genicular artery embolization (GAE), genicular nerve ablation (GNA), and peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS), highlighting anatomical correlations and patient selection, as well as reasons why offering all 3 therapeutic options may be optimal.

Learning Objectives:

Describe the relevant anatomy and imaging correlation of the genicular nerves and arteries involved in knee osteoarthritis, with emphasis on image-guided localization and implications for targeted interventions.
Compare the mechanisms, patient selection criteria, and current clinical evidence supporting genicular artery embolization (GAE), genicular nerve ablation (GNA), and peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) as minimally invasive treatments for knee osteoarthritis.
Develop a multidisciplinary treatment strategy for managing chronic knee pain due to osteoarthritis by integrating interventional radiology procedures with orthopedic and rehabilitative approaches.
