This immersive Deep Dive is designed to upskill interventional specialists by providing a comprehensive, evidence-based exploration of carotid artery stenting (CAS) and related techniques. Participants will review current standards of care, including medical therapy and carotid endarterectomy (CEA) while focusing on the expanding role of CAS in both asymptomatic and symptomatic disease, as well as its emerging application in acute ischemic stroke.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the rationale and evidence supporting carotid artery stenting (CAS) and TCAR across various patient populations, strengthen their skills in interpreting carotid duplex, transcranial Doppler (TCD), CTA, and MRA imaging for procedural planning, and develop the expertise to evaluate new stent and embolic protection technologies in the context of evolving reimbursement and coding considerations.
Hands-on, vendor-supported simulation stations will provide practical experience in stent deployment and embolic protection, while multidisciplinary case discussions will reinforce evidence-based decision-making to optimize patient outcomes. This deep dive is a prime opportunity to refine technical skills, integrate new data, and elevate expertise in carotid intervention.
