Becoming a department is not easy. It is a financial burden to the hospital, and at least it initially appears so. To make this happen for the right IR program, collaboration and agreement of DR, understanding and presenting overall financial benefit of IR to the hospital, impact on education and research needs to be outlined and presented to multiple committees designed by each academic institution's bylaws. This session is designed to discuss and answer questions regarding this complex process.
