Who can step on the fluoroscopy pedal, and how do they earn the privilege? Fluoroscopy is a common modality utilized by advanced practice providers in Interventional Radiology, yet some are allowed to use it without restriction, and some are prohibited from its use. We hope to crack the code on who can use fluoroscopy, discuss the different pathways to obtaining fluoroscopy privileges, and discuss how to address some of the challenges APPs face in Interventional Radiology regarding the use of fluoroscopy in patient care. We will also discuss considerations for radiation safety and fluoroscopy education.
