Participants—students and residents —will work on innovative solutions to real-world clinical challenges, guided through the process of ideation, prototyping, and intellectual property development. Using the Lean process model in healthcare innovation, the event will emphasize creativity and feasibility, with final presentations evaluated by expert judges.
The educational component of the hackathon aims to foster innovation in interventional radiology, sharpen problem-solving skills, and introduce participants to the fundamentals of medical device development and intellectual property. A detailed outline of the event objectives, format, judging criteria, and educational value is provided to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.

Learning Objectives:

Fostering Innovation: Introduce participants to medical device design and intellectual property generation.
Problem Solving: Provide hands-on experience in identifying and addressing clinical challenges in interventional radiology.
Educational Integration: Teach participants the Lean process model for healthcare innovation, emphasizing creativity, feasibility, and clinical relevance.
Team Collaboration: Encourage multidisciplinary teamwork by forming random teams to solve real-world clinical problems.
Mentorship: Connect participants with mentors from the field to guide the development of innovative ideas.
