This session will go beyond the technical aspects of creating percutaneous AVFs and related procedures like brachial plexus blocks, and explore how IR's can create AVFs and programs that are successful. Topics include how to develop a percutaneous AVF program in both the outpatient and hospital settings, addressing obstacles and opportunities leading to program success and optimal patient care. Strategies and methods to achieve mature, functional percutaneous AVFs for reliable hemodialysis access will be presented. Finally, compliant coding and billing will be reviewed.
