Description of the session: This session will introduce interventional radiologists to the basic principles of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) and will equip them with the knowledge needed to critically evaluate AI algorithms as they look to introduce AI applications into their own practices. Topics covered will include a discussion of the factors to consider when evaluating machine learning models, a summary of the pitfalls and an overview of what is needed to develop an AI algorithm and integrate it into practice. The session will end with a summary of the current applications of AI in IR.
