This presentation reviews the evolution, mechanism, and clinical performance of balloon-assisted embolization across TACE, Y90, and PAE. Drawing on more than a decade of clinical evidence, Dr. Kim demonstrates how balloon occlusion improves embolic delivery by lowering distal pressure and redirecting flow to target tissues. The session also highlights the importance of patient selection, superselective positioning, and pressure optimization, as well as safety advantages, including reduced nontarget embolization. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the key technical principles and clinical benefits supporting balloon embolization as an advanced approach in IR procedures.
