Complex portal interventions beyond stand portal vein recanalization to address challenging patterns of chronic portal vein occlusion, cavernous transformation, and compromised splanchnic flow. These advanced techniques integrate multiple access routes such as transhepatic, transsplenic, transmesenteric, and transjugular approaches to restore physiologic portal flow.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, parcipitants will be understand the rationale for complex portal-systemic shunt creation beyond standard TIPS.
Upon completion, partcipants will be able to appreciate the challenges of creating a shunt using cavernomatous portal channels.
Upon completion, participanta will be able to apply stepwise stratgies for complex access (transhepatic, transsplenic, transmesenteric).
