This session will provide a comprehensive, case-based review of portal venous interventions, emphasizing how technical nuances directly influence clinical outcomes. Through expert talks and live case commentary, attendees will gain practical insights into PVR, TIPS techniques, management of complex scenarios such as Budd–Chiari syndrome and pediatric portal interventions, and decision-making in small TIPS. Participants will leave with actionable tips to refine technique, anticipate pitfalls, and optimize patient outcomes in everyday portal interventions.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participants will be able to describe key technical considerations and procedural nuances in portal venous interventions, including PVR and TIPS creation
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to analyze clinical decision-making strategies for complex portal hypertension scenarios such as Budd–Chiari syndrome, small TIPS, and pediatric portal venous interventions.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to apply best practices and troubleshooting techniques, derived from case-based discussions and live case reviews, to optimize clinical outcomes in portal interventions.
