Traditional adjuncts like high-pressure balloons or atherectomy improved luminal gain but carried risks such as dissection, embolization, and restenosis. New vessel preparation technologies now address arterial compliance, reduce trauma, and create optimal landing zones for drug-coated balloons or stents. Focused innovations such as specialized balloons, atherectomy systems, and intravascular lithotripsy are reshaping PAD treatment into more precise and vessel-friendly procedures.
