Session: Prostate Interventions: TULSA and Beyond

In this session, the focus will be on the workup and treatment of prostate cancer. Different treatments of prostate cancer, including hormonal therapy, radiation, and surgery, will be covered. However, there will be a focus on IR techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. Transurethral Ultrasound Ablation (TULSA) will be covered, including an overview of this emerging technology as a treatment option for low-risk and intermediate-risk prostate cancer. Starting a TULSA practice, how the technology works, and outcomes will be reviewed in-depth in this session.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participant will be able to understand the diagnosis of prostate cancer and current available treatment options.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to describe IR techniques used in the work-up of prostate cancer.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to understand how TULSA is used in the treatment of prostate cancer, and outcomes associated with this treatment modality.
