Debate style format focusing on current controversies within the realm of adrenal vein sampling and management of hyperfunctioning adrenal nodules. We will hear spirited opinions from experts as they argue about the role of ACTH in AVS, the possibility of PET replacing AVS, and whether interventional radiologists should take on surgeons by offering ablation ablation instead of adrenalectomy.

Learning Objectives:

Critically evaluate the role of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) stimulation during adrenal vein sampling (AVS) in the diagnosis of primary aldosteronism, with a focus on its impact on procedural success, lateralization accuracy, and clinical decision-making for surgical intervention.
Assess the diagnostic accuracy, clinical utility, and future potential of [¹⁸F]AldoView PET imaging compared to adrenal vein sampling (AVS) in the lateralization of aldosterone production for primary aldosteronism, and critically evaluate whether molecular imaging could supplant AVS as the gold standard in clinical practice.
Compare the clinical efficacy, safety profile, and long-term outcomes of surgical adrenalectomy versus percutaneous adrenal ablation in the management of unilateral aldosterone-producing adenomas, and critically evaluate which modality offers the optimal balance of therapeutic success and patient-centered care.
