Session will focus on the role of TIPS and associated interventions in the management of portal hypertension based on indications for therapy. Topics to be discussed include variceal bleeding, ascites/hydrothorax, presence of hepatic encephalopathy, isolated gastric varices, presence of porto-mesenteric thrombosis, and sinistral portal hypertension. Physiology, anatomy, and unique approaches to therapy based on clinical circumstances will be discussed.
