Description of the session: The goal of this session is to discuss treatment options for diseases that are more commonly seen in adults. There are no specific FDA approved devices that are designed for smaller patients. IRs often need to innovate and repurpose equipment designed for adults in sometimes life-threatening conditions.
1. Discuss options for treatment for acute and chronic caval occlusion in pre-pubertal patients.
2. Discuss indications for treatment of pulmonary embolus including dosing for lytic therapy and use of mechanical thrombectomy.
