Pleural Dynamics

Pleural Dynamics introduces a novel treatment for recurrent pleural effusions: the ACES™ Automatic Continuous Effusion Shunt.  ACES is the first and only fully implantable shunt designed for low maintenance, continuous symptom relief.  The ACES pump is implanted between the ribs in a straightforward procedure.  It uses a patient’s normal breathing motion to pump excess fluid buildup in the pleural space via catheter into the abdomen where it is absorbed. This fully internal, patient-friendly system provides freedom from external catheters, frequent drainage, and prolonged hospital stays, allowing patients to breathe life in.
