IR Escape Room (Team competition)
We’re calling on IR teams to design original clinical scenarios for the IR Escape Room—an immersive, three-level (Diagnostic → Complication → Resolution) simulation that tests teams in real-world interventional radiology problem-solving. Selected teams will bring their scenarios to life onsite in Toronto Sunday-Tuesday afternoons, using hands-on simulators, imaging puzzles, and device technologies, while attendee teams race the clock (15–20 minutes) to diagnose, manage, and resolve each challenge.
- Who Submits: 3–5 team members (must include 1 attending physician)
- The team lead is the submitter
- Deadline to Submit: January 31, 2026
- Notice of Acceptance: February 2026
To play the IR Escape Room, teams must sign up in February.
Case Competition (Individual competition)
New this year, the Case Competition is a high-energy educational event designed to highlight clinical excellence, critical thinking, and procedural creativity in interventional radiology. Participants will submit real-world IR cases that demonstrate diagnostic acumen, technical innovation, and patient-centered outcomes. Selected finalists will deliver a concise 6–8 slide presentation (5-minute presentation + 2-minute Q&A) live before a panel of expert judges and an engaged audience at the SIR 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting in Toronto on Wednesday, April 15, 8:00–9:30 a.m.
Blending education with friendly competition, this session promotes peer learning, showcases diverse problem-solving approaches within the IR community, and fosters mentorship and collaboration among emerging and established leaders in the field.
