Improving Quality and Safety in IR

This workshop will discuss practical issues to implement a quality assurance and continuous quality improvement program. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss how to select relevant topics of interest for QA and analyze objectively the quality of their practice. The process of continuous quality improvement and the use of information technology to monitor and assess quality will be addressed.

Objective:

At the end of this session, the learner should be able to:
1. Select the most important safety issues to evaluate in IR
2. Define thresholds in QA / know the most relevant SIR criteria
3. Describe the hurdles and barriers encountered when implementing a QA program and how to obtain quality data in IR
4. Identify specific strategies to improve quality in patient workflow
5. Employ information technology (RIS, HI-IQ software.. ) to detect quality issues and evaluate the impact of continuous quality improvement
