SIR IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE RECIPIENTS OF THE 2009 SIR FOUNDATION RESEARCH AWARDS

The 2009 research awards will be presented on Monday, March 9, during the IR Research to (Better) Practice plenary session at 1:30 pm.

Dr. Constantin Cope Medical Student Research Award Details and Submission Guidelines

The Dr. Constantin Cope Medical Student Research Award recognizes high-quality research presented at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting by medical students. The purpose of the award is to introduce interested medical students to the greater interventional radiology community at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. Medical students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year at an accredited medical school who have demonstrated an interest in interventional radiology as a career can apply for this award.

Resident/Fellow Research Award Details and Submission Guidelines

The Resident/Fellow Research Award is designed to provide radiology residents and interventional radiology fellows an opportunity to attend and present their scientific research at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. This research award recognizes high-quality research by trainees and exposes young researchers, who wish to further their career in interventional radiology, to the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting.

SIR Foundation is a scientific foundation dedicated to fostering research in interventional radiology for the purposes of advancing scientific knowledge, increasing the number of skilled investigators, and developing innovative therapies that lead to improved patient care and quality of life. The Foundation is committed to developing and enhancing innovative, minimally invasive, image-guided therapies from inception to mature clinical application and to conduct educational programs in the service of its mission.

The Foundation acknowledges that interventional radiology carries a rich tradition of developing innovations that improve modern patient care. Each year SIR Foundation proudly supports award programs that recognize outstanding achievements in research and innovation.
